Show Your Support for the NSRI

The NSRI in Action
As surfers we're constantly putting ourselves in positions of potential danger and when things go wrong it's essential to know who to get hold of. In any emergency situation, be it rip-tides, sand-bar collisions or the dreaded shark inflicted lacerations, the NSRI is always a good option for the all important first call.

The National Sea Rescue Institute has been saving lives off our costs since 1967, but it is costly work. So please make a donation if you can (or get your folks to sign up on your behalf if you can't).

They are currently running a competition with great cash prizes from now until December to encourage new donors. Donate R50 a month or more and you go into a monthly draw to win R10 000 every month between now and November and the grand prize of R100 000 in December. So please click here to do your bit, or download the donation form by clicking here

And while you reading this, save 021 449-3500 to your phone. It is the local Cape Town NSRI control room's number and should be your first port of call in a maritime emergency anywhere between Dassen Island and Cape Aghulhas.
