2012 Committee

With 2011 drawing to an end the Surf Club put the new committee to a vote on the 4^th of October. Current chairman Andrew Mandy is set to graduate come December so his boots needed to be filled.

Leadership positions in the Surf Club tend to be filled more by necessity than a hunger for power, and 2012 will see Peter Thorpe take over the burden of organising the ragged group of nearly 150 university surfers.

Chairman: Peter Thorpe

Vice Chairman: Ricki Allardice

Secretary: Nadia Barnard

Web Surfer: Henrique Cilliers

Public Relations: Lisa Mace & Kurt Dreyer

Bus co-coordinators: Chris Faure & Llewellyn Duim

Remaining on from 2011 are Ricki Allardice, Lisa Mace, Chris Faure and the long serving Nadia Barnard. They are joined by Kurt Dreyer and Llewellyn Duim, who takes up Peter’s old job of co-ordinating the busses to Strand. In an all new role Henrique Cilliers joins the committee to ensure that the social media side of things is well updated.

Good luck to the 2012 bunch, it’s a pretty much thankless job, but someone’s got to do it…
